Program Description:
Looking for an engaging summertime activity? Join us for an evening of exploration and discovery at Steward Observatory on the University of Arizona campus. This unique experience combines fascinating information about the cosmos and viewing through the Ray E. White 21-inch telescope.
Participants will begin the evening with an engaging exploration of current astronomical research, discovering how University of Arizona scientists investigate the universe and uncover its secrets. The experience continues under the Tucson night sky, where participants will observe celestial objects through the Ray E. White 21-inch telescope, the same telescope used by University of Arizona astronomy students. Our guides will provide a hands-on introduction to observational astronomy and a deeper appreciation for the wonders above.
Whether you are experiencing astronomy for the first time or are a lifelong stargazer, this series offers a unique opportunity to explore the cosmos from the heart of campus and discover why Tucson is recognized as one of the world's premier destinations for astronomy.

Telescope observing is weather dependent and requires ascending multiple flights of stairs.

NOTE: Please check in in the lobby of Steward Observatory at 933 N. Cherry Ave. on the University of Arizona campus, not on Mt. Lemmon.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the program. This program will last 90-120 minutes.
